Resources for supporting youth and families, and implementing Wraparound during COVID-19.

Implementing Wraparound FAQs

Billing:

  • add modifier GT when billing for Wrap
  • CANS- Retroactively, BOTH CANS codes will be updated on the fee schedule, so go forth and complete your CANS over the phone/zoom etc.; Nat is also working on telehealth codes for CANS

CANS: From Danielle at SOCI: Challenges with engagement and completing initial CANS due to not being able to meet with families and youth in person.

  • Keep engaging with youth, family, and team members as best you can given the current situation. That might look like phone calls or online meetings.
  • From page 1 of the CANS FAQ: “For the first CANS, it is likely that you may not have enough information to rate every single item. For those items, please rate Needs as a 0 and Strengths as a 3. Over time, as you continue to engage with the youth, family, and team you will have more information to rate more CANS items.”
  • Reference the Using CANS During COVID-19 document, which discusses strategies that support engagement with youth and families regarding the CANS

Engagement with youth and families:

  • Marco Polo, FaceTime, Twitch, Instagram, House Party, Book Club, Snapchat, TikTok, Hangouts, Zoom, Mend, Telehealth

Wrap and Wrap Review Meetings:

  • Zoom, Telehealth, conference line, 8×8

HIPPA during COVID-19: “Under this Notice, covered health care providers may use popular applications that allow for video chats, including Apple FaceTime, Facebook Messenger video chat, Google Hangouts video, Zoom, or Skype, to provide telehealth without risk that OCR might seek to impose a penalty for noncompliance with the HIPAA Rules related to the good faith provision of telehealth during the COVID-19 nationwide public health emergency. Providers are encouraged to notify patients that these third-party applications potentially introduce privacy risks, and providers should enable all available encryption and privacy modes when using such applications.”

WFI-EZ: From Danielle at SOCI: WFI EZ during this time. Is it possible to stop it, considering we are not face to face with families and often team collaboration is happening but not with all partners due to the pandemic.

  • The WFI-EZ can be completed online as an option since you won’t be seeing the youth and families you work with face-to-face. The WrapStat data system has the capacity to send out batch emails to youth, caregivers, team members, and care coordinators with a link allowing them to complete the WFI-EZ completely online, with the data being automatically added to the Youth Record in WrapStat.
    • Access this YouTube video and jump to the chapter “WFI-EZ Message Center” at timestamp 1:02:51 for instructions on sending WFI-EZ emails.
  • Another option is to have someone from your program, not Care Coordinators, call youth, caregivers, and team members and complete the WFI-EZ with them over the phone.
