Advanced Training: Cultural and Linguistic Responsiveness Part 2

February 21 – 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Description:

This training will focus on developing practitioners’ Cultural and Linguistic Responsiveness skills. Participants will build understanding of racial equity and why it is important to understand personal bias and implicit bias in the work of Wraparound. In addition we look at how brain science plays a role in othering and how to build skills to recognize how this might impact the work of Wraparound. This training will include BIPOC affinity breakout rooms for BIPOC identified practitioners. We feel it is an important reminder that BIPOC folx are not responsible for holding space for white fragility and teaching white-bodied practitioners about race and equity issues. BIPOC participants will not be required to be in the affinity space, it is offered as an option for folx that identify as BIPOC. To register you must have completed Part 1 of this training. All roles in Wraparound will benefit from this training

NOTE: Advanced trainings refer to the trainings’ content advancing beyond what is learned in the foundational training, not to it being for individuals with advanced knowledge or experience on the topic.
